Ship Registration under the Malta Flag
All types of vessels, from pleasure yachts to cruiser liners, from container ships to oil tankers and oil rigs may be registered, provided that, inter alia, they are wholly owned by Maltese citizens or by Maltese companies incorporated in terms of the Commercial Partnerships Ordinance. Maltese law also provides for bareboat charter registration of foreign ships under the Malta flag as well as for bareboat registration of Maltese ships under a foreign flag.
