Together with our Corporate and Tax teams, we offer an all-inclusive service to our clients, paying close attention to their intricate personal, business and legal requirements. We take pride in our level of professionalism and attention to detail, both essential elements in order to provide the best solutions to our private clients' needs. Typically, our role is to ensure that such clients adjust and familiarise themselves with Malta and to project manage their setting up from a legal, corporate and logistical aspect and assist them in compliance and ongoing matters.

The firm's partners and managers are key players in the various areas of the firm's practice. They are instrumental in consistently submitting position papers and research papers and proposals to government entities to reform and improve Maltese immigration law and other areas of the law. Moreover, they represent a number of professional bodies, such as the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), Institute of Financial Service Practitioners and the Chamber of Advocates, as well as various industry associations (e.g. Malta Association of Family Enterprises, Malta Digital Gamers Developers Association), making them key players in their fields of expertise.

We take pride in our Private Client Practice and our team 'with a difference'. Our team was one of the very first immigration specialised teams in Malta. Our members have gained invaluable experience, but still seek to always be highly speedy, accurate and commercially astute. Our team is a mix of legal, accounting and tax professionals which ensures that our clients receive the best multidisciplinary advice to cater for their needs. We boast a commitment to quality whilst at the same time emphasising responsiveness and paramount client service.

Immigration Law Expertise

Our immigration team, together with other professionals in the firm, including our tax advisors, assist persons wishing to relocate and retire to Malta using the appropriate Malta programme, whether this involves the attainment of citizenship or through one of the current, available residency programmes.

Malta Citizenship

Those who wish to acquire Maltese citizenship have a number of options to choose from to suit their needs. Citizenship may be attained by birth, descent, marriage, naturalisation, and recently, by investment as well.

Malta’s Individual Investor Programme allows affluent persons of impeccable standing and repute to be naturalised and to receive Maltese Citizenship on the basis of a contribution to and an investment in Malta. The firm was one of the forerunners in introducing citizenship by investment in Malta and represented the first group of u-/HNW family applicants as part of the pilot programme launched by Identity Malta, the agency responsible for the launch and administration of the programme. The firm was the very first firm to be granted ‘Approved Agent’ status by Identity Malta and saw the first Malta Citizenship approvals ever being issued under the Malta Citizenship by Investment Programme.

Our residency and Citizenship Law team includes Dr Jean-Philippe Chetcuti (Chetcuti Cauchi Advisors Ltd) who holds Citizenship Agent Licence no. IIP 001 and Mr Kenneth Camilleri who holds licence no. IIP 124. Both have satisfied the additional requirements imposed by the IIP Regulations over and above the requirements for ARMs under other legislation. The programme imposes more responsibilities on ARMs to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the application process, for the protection and benefit of applicants and the reputation of the Maltese citizens by investment programme.

Individuals from different parts of the world, including the Middle-East, Russia, and the CIS, China, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, France and the US, have been represented by the firm. The firm provides VIP treatment to clients applying under this programme, offering end-to-end process management and concierge services, hand holding the client and family members throughout the application process and project managing any personal relocation process.

Moreover, another Cyprus Residency programme gives the right to EU nationals to permanently reside in Cyprus and include their Non-EU family as well. Our Practice is well prepared to assist clients in selecting the appropriate residency scheme and therefore making the right choice for their business and family.

Through the Citizenship by Investment, non-EU investors such as foreign entrepreneurs and their registered dependants are granted naturalisation and a Cypriot Passport which allows the investor and his family to enjoy all the rights and benefits that a Cypriot would possess by birthright. This programme has proved to be very successful in attracting third country nationals who are highly qualified, successful and reputable entrepreneurs and their families who are looking for an alternative family base for private, business or financial matters.
