Innovative Workshop on the MIIP and MRVP

This year, on 3rd October 2017, the Radisson Blu Resort and Spa, will host the Investment Migration Council and the Government of Malta are joining forces to launch a workshop regarding the Investment Migration Industry in Malta, with particular focus on the Malta Individual Investor Programme (MIIP) and the Malta Residency Visa Programme (MRVP). For this event, various distinguished speakers from different fields will discuss the topic both from a political and socio-economic perspective. Throughout this workshop, the speakers will discuss the present state of this Industry in Malta, its development since the launch of the MIIP and MRVP and any potential future endeavours which might be beneficial to the overall development of this sector.  This event is going to be held annually as from this year.

Our role as exclusive practitioner partners

For this workshop, Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates has been invited as the exclusive practitioner partner and was requested to deliver a comprehensive overview with regards to the different Investment programmes (especially the MIIP and MRVP) that exist under Maltese Law. As an expert in the field of Citizenship and Residency Law, Dr Jean-Philippe Chetcuti will provide a detailed description of both the MIIP and MRVP, highlighting the salient features, as well as conduct a comparative review of both schemes, to outline any key differences between the two.

Dr Jean-Philippe Chetcuti

Dr Jean-Philippe Chetcuti is a co-founder and managing partner of Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates, a leading law firm in Malta with offices in Valletta, London, Nicosia and Hong Kong. With more than 15 years of experience in the private sector, Dr Chetcuti leads the firm’s Private Client practice and specialises in private client tax planning, wealth structuring and citizenship and residency planning.

He is the principal consultant on the Malta Citizenship by Investment,  the Malta Golden Visa and the Malta Global Residence Programme. He is also licensed by the Identity Malta Agency (licence IIP 001) to directly file citizenship applications under the Malta Individual Investor Programme.

Dr Chetcuti is a member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates and sits on the executive council of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. He also chairs the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) in Malta and is a co-founder of the Malta Association of Family Enterprises (MAFE).
