Amendments to the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship Programme

The changes of the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship Programme:

Real Estate Investment:

Interest in the programme is likely to spike among investors with the newly-introduced Limited Time Offer (LTO) on real estate investment valid until 31st October 2019. While processing and due diligence fees still hold, and the minimum threshold for investing in real estate remains at USD400,000, two parties can now make a joint investment of USD200,000 each in real estate, allowing them both to qualify for Antiguan citizenship.

Eligibility Requirements:

Other changes in the Antigua and Barbuda citizenship by investment programme concern the eligibility requirements. Firstly, the age of parents that can qualify for the programme has been reduced from 65 to 58. Furthermore, a requirement calling for dependent children under the age of 18 to visit Antigua and Barbuda for a minimum of five days per year for the first five years, has been discarded. Upon attaining the age of 18 however, this physical residence requirement is once again applied, as well as a condition to swear an oath or pledge allegiance.
